Sign Cabinet LED Lighting Solutions
Overview of the TMT Midi Stick system, lumen tables, retrofit guides, and Linera profile system for sign cabinet LED lighting.
Everything for LED Sign Cabinet Lighting
Sign cabinets are lit one of two ways: face lighting, with rows of wide-beam modules mounted on the cabinet back, or edge lighting, with directional modules mounted on the perimeter. In the TMT system, face lighting uses Midi 4 or Midi 3 modules snapped into the Midi Stick rail, while edge lighting uses the Midi Edge-lit module, whose 15°×45° directional beam throws light up to 7 feet across the face. The Midi Edge-lit is for sign cabinets and edge-lit lightboxes only — not channel letters.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which LED module is best for sign cabinets?
For face-lit cabinets, use the Midi 4 Game Changer (250-300 Lm, RevA) or the economical Midi 3 Game Player (225 Lm) mounted on the Midi Stick. For edge-lit cabinets and lightbox perimeters, use the Midi Edge-lit with its 15°×45° directional beam.
What is the difference between face lighting and edge lighting?
Face lighting mounts wide-beam modules in rows on the cabinet back so light fires directly at the face. Edge lighting mounts directional modules on the cabinet perimeter so light travels across the face — the Midi Edge-lit throws up to 7 feet. Edge lighting suits shallow cabinets where face-mounted rows would create hot spots.
How do I size power supplies for a cabinet?
Total the module wattage and apply the official TMT per-model load limits (e.g., 32 Midi 4 modules at 1.7W per 60W/12V Class 2 circuit; 34 Midi 3 modules). Use the ROI Calculator for automated counts, and see the LED Power Supplies section for 12V and 24V models from 60W to 240W.
Can I light single and double-sided cabinets with the same system?
Yes. The Midi Stick system supports both single and double-sided cabinets, and the published lumen tables provide separate reference values for each configuration.
